🧅 Do you know the veggies in Bahay Kubo?

I’m sure you’ve heard of Bahay Kubo, but you probably haven’t gone through each and every veggie in the song. Here’s an english translation:

Nipa hut, even though it’s small, the plants that grow around it are varied: turnip and eggplant, winged bean and peanut, string bean, hyacinth bean, lima bean

Winter melon, sponge gourd, wax gourd and winter squash
And there is also radish, mustard, onion, tomato, garlic, and ginger
And all around are sesame seeds!

🍗 Chicken Barbecue Recipe

Summer barbecues are on the way! Here’s an idea for your upcoming get togethers: Filipino style chicken BBQ. 🍗

Marinade the chicken overnight with these ingredients:

• 3/4 cup soy sauce

• 1/2 cup brown sugar

• 1/4 cup banana ketchup

• 3 or more cloves of garlic, minced

• 1 tsp cracked black pepper

Then grill the chicken. You can baste the chicken with this Java sauce:

• 1/2 cup soy sauce

• 1/2 cup brown sugar

• 4 tbsp banana ketchup

• 2 tbsp cooking oil

• 1/4 water

• 1 tsp hot sauce

You can combine this with the leftover marinade. Make sure to cook the sauce to avoid any contamination.
